Al Batra Bookshop is a book distributor and retail group in the Middle East, having branches throughout the GCC .SM+D were appointed to do Design and Build for the book retail store that housed hundreds of books .
The interior was designed to provide a variety of unique and immersive environments for reading and shopping. The concept of dramatically using ceiling space as centre of knowledge radiating out to incorporate books in a similar fashion to give out knowledge was developed. This process created a circulation in the form of a parabolic wave, motivating the customers to make multiple purchases.
